Each client is different but as a rule of thumb I encourage my clients to get their middle credit score to at least 620.
One of the biggest questions and misconceptions I get is about the down payment. You do NOT need 20% downpayment. You can buy with little to no down payment.
It depends on how much you want to qualify for. I’ll also review your debt to income to determine up to how much you can purchase. Typically, you need a salary upwards of at least $50k to buy anything decent in San Diego. Again, each client and situation is different.
Sometimes we can do a rapid rescore on your credit to help improve your score. It depends on which accounts are causing the decrease in your score. I typically will evaluate your credit with you on our first call and I can provide any tips that’ll help in qualifying you.
